We acknowledge with gratitude the land and waters in Orillia, the ancestral and treaty territory of the Anishinaabeg, including the Chippewa Tri-Council (Rama First Nation, Beausoleil First Nation, and Georgina Island First Nation) and the Williams Treaties signatories. These lands and waters sustain all life, and we recognize the enduring stewardship of Indigenous Peoples past, present, and future. We recognize and regret the colonialist policies and practices endured since the arrival of the first settlers in Canada. Guided by care, we commit to actions that honor truth and reconciliation—rooted in support for Indigenous communities and ongoing responsibility to this place. Miigwech.
